What do I bring to my appointment?

In order for us to prepare your return, please make sure that you bring everything that applies to your individual or business tax return.

  • Be sure to bring all W-2s, all 1099s… 1099INT, 1099DIV, 1099G, 1099R, 1099MISC, 1099B, and SSA-1099s.
  • Be sure to bring all 1098s… 1098, 1098E, 1098T, etc.
  • Be sure to bring any child care expense paid and the child care providers name, address, and federal ID#.
  • Be sure to bring your current bank information if you want your refund directly deposited to your checking or savings account.
  • If you paid or received any alimony, bring the amount paid or received. If you paid, we will need the recipients’ social security number.
  • Bring all income and expense from any rental property you own.
  • Be sure to bring all personal property taxes paid and real estate taxes paid.
  • Be sure to bring all your medical expenses (medical insurance premiums paid, if after tax, long term care insurance premiums paid, payments to doctors, drug stores, hospitals, medical equipment rented or purchased, dental payments, eyeglasses purchased, etc. Also bring your total medical mileage driven for the year.
  • Bring your charitable contributions paid by cash or check for which you have receipts. Also bring receipts for donated clothing, household items, etc. Include any charitable mileage you may have driven.
  • If you are self-employed, be sure to bring any estimated tax payments you made.
  • If you receive any K-1s from any source, please bring them.
  • Be sure to bring all personal Property Taxes paid, Real Estate Taxes paid, and Mortgage Interest paid.
  • If you made any out-of-state purchases that you did not pay sales tax to that state, please bring that information.
  • If you are a new client, please bring a copy of your last year’s federal and state income tax returns.
  • If you are a new business client, in addition to the information above, please bring all your sources of income and all your expenses. You can contact us for a detailed list of expense categories.
  • And finally, bring anything you think you may need. After all, it is better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.
